Fundraising for PROSTATE CANCER UK
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK…
Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.
THE CHALLENGE… I’ve been training since October to run the West Highland Way Challenge Race on the 25th May 2024. The West Highland Way Challenge Race is an ultra trail marathon. It is a 96 mile 'point to point' race taking in some of Scotland's finest outdoor scenery, along with a challenging 14,700ft of ascent during the race.
The race follows the West Highland Way long distance trail starting in Fort William to crossing the finish line in Milngavie within a time limit of 35 hours - however I’ve set myself a personal goal of 24 hours to complete this challenge.
I will also be completing 1 marathon and 2 additional ultra-marathons in preparation for this. These are as follows:
Glentress Trail Marathon - Sunday 18th February - The Glentress Trail Marathon route comprises two 21km circuits. Starting & finishing at the Glentress Peel visitor centre & climbing high to the top of Glentress Forest, the route incorporates exciting sections of the blue, red & black mtb trails.
John Muir Way Ultra-Marathon - Saturday 9th March - The John Muir Way Ultra Marathon is a 50km race that follows the John Muir Way through East Lothians most iconic towns, coastlines and rural trails
Forth Ultra - Saturday 20th April - A 43 mile / 69 km circular ultramarathon around the Firth of Forth estuary. Crossing 2 iconic Forth Bridges and connecting two well-known Scottish trails the Fife Coastal Path and the John Muir Way.
Any donations would be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
