Story

Having joined a few of the Soup Kitchen evenings I decided to sign up to regularly volunteer from November 2024.

Seeing and speaking to people about their journeys really does make me appreciate how lucky I am, and makes me realise how it could happen to any one of us.

So I have signed up to take part in the 10th Annual Big Sleepout and Dawn Walk for 2025 as I have been told it is a thought-provoking experience that can offer a better understanding of the life some of our most vulnerable local people face.

Felt like I need to put myself in the situation, even if it is only for one night, and it would be great if you could sponsor me, no matter how small the donation as it will all go towards the many projects that Helping Hands runs.

During the evening there will be a range of speakers on various topics from a number of organisations and Soup kitchen style food will be served in the evening before settling down in our cardboard boxes and waterproof sheets for the night. This year we have extended the event to include a Dawn Walk from the Parish Church around Leamington finishing back at our offices on Althorpe Street for breakfast.

So even if you can't donate anything please click on the link below and look at the great work being done by Helping Hands as you might find an area you find interesting and can do some volunteering yourself!
