Story
Laburnum Boat Club was opened in 1983 by a group of local parents for disadvantaged, disabled and vulnerable young people. The Club provides fun, challenging and accessible activities that support young people to be the best they can be. My nephew, Rhydian, has been a member of Laburnum Boat Club since he was 13 and goes in several times a week. It is no exaggeration to say the Club's safe and fun environment and inclusive ethos has changed his life. And he is not alone. It is a wonderful Club which performs a vital role in the community. Above all, the Club and its staff believe in young people and provide a place where they feel welcome right in the heart of the local community. Now, the Club needs our help!
As a small charity any money raised is vital to keep the gates open and resources available for the young people they work with. This year they're on a MISSION to RAISE FUNDS to re-develop their A-Frame giving young people a warm, safe space to learn and grow as well as raising money to keep their iconic gates open.
A £5 donation will provide access for a disadvantaged young person to access their Youth Club for a day; £100 allows them to provide a free year's membership for a young person to come along as often as they like.
Please help us reach our goal and help secure Laburnum's future. To find out more about what they do and their redevelopment plans please visit our website at www.laburnumboatclub.com
