Story
At 5 weeks old Willow was admitted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, unsettled, clingy and glowing yellow. The weeks that followed felt like then end of what should have just been the beginning. After an operation, biopsy and a very anxious 6 weeks wait, Willow was diagnosed with non-syndromic bile duct paucity. During her stay, the all nighters, the weekend leave, the consultations, procedures and follow up appointments, BCH have been beyond supportive. Each person, Doctor, Nurse, Volunteer, Chaplin, Coffee shop worker/ Cleaner, Porter and more, and each encounter, has been loaded with smiles, support, tissues if needed….reassurance, guidance and empathy. Willow's family didn’t know much about BCH until they were faced with those testing times, but they continue to advocate its brilliance and will be their biggest supporters for years to come. And with that comes the chance to help others, some far less fortunate than they were in 2022. By giving even just £1.00 YOU can make a difference, by supporting me running the 10K on Sunday 24th March in the hope of raising much needed funds to give a little back.
