Story
Mavis Paterson, also known as 'Granny Mave', is gearing up for another incredible cycling challenge to raise vital funds for British Heart Foundation (BHF).
She will be embarking on another journey from Land's End to John O'Groats, starting on Monday, April 27th, 2025, and lasting approximately 4 weeks.
This cycle holds a special significance for Mave as she is doing it in memory of her youngest son Sandy, who tragically passed away from a heart attack at the age of 43. She will also be remembering her other two adult children, Bob and Katie, who also left this world too soon.
At 86 years young, Mave is hoping to achieve the Guinness World Record for the second time as the oldest woman to complete this challenging cycle.
Your support would mean the world to her as she dedicates her energy to this incredible cause.
BHF has made significant strides in reducing the number of lives lost to heart and circulatory diseases in the UK, but there is still much work to be done. Every pound contributed can make a difference - £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist.
Please consider supporting Mave's journey and help her reach her target amount of £10,000. Thank you!
