GRAHAM's fundraiser for Stroke Association, Scotland

Photography Exhibition - People of the Valley · 4 May 2024
In September 2022 my sister suffered a massive stroke at her rural croft. She just managed to make a mobile call to her son before collapsing behind the bedroom door.
When the paramedics arrived they managed to get her out with great difficulty as she was blocking the door. Thankfully they managed and she was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
In short, she was given 24 hours at most, unable to swallow and partially paralysed, and we were told to say our goodbyes. But Dianne is a fighter and kept mumbling "I am OK"
With the prompt responses from the paramedics and vital support of the staff at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, followed by intensive therapy at New Stobhill Hospital, then finally Forth Valley Royal, she continued to improve and was discharged before Christmas.
In 2023 Dianne celebrated her 70th birthday. It was a very special occasion for her family, friends and herself, and today she is going about her daily affairs, and most importantly to Dianne, back driving again.
Her sons raised thousands for the Stroke Association by shaving their heads, but as a photographer planning an exhibition about people, I wanted to take this opportunity to try and raise again for this vital charity.
When serious illness strikes, prompt action is vital and the support Dianne received undoubtedly saved her life.
My grateful thanks to all in the chain of support and to you if you are able to donate to this important charity.
