7 Sisters x 2, Yorkshire 3 Peaks and UK 3 Peaks Challenge
Fundraising for Children with Cancer UK
Fundraising for Children with Cancer UK
In October 2023 I joined a charity walk over the 7 Sisters on the South Coast in order to spend some much needed down time in the fresh air with colleagues whilst hoping to raise some money for our chosen charity, Children with Cancer UK.
I funded the entry myself and set up a charity page.
I don't like to ask for sponsorship, but I was staggered and pleasantly surprised to find that several kind souls donated, helping me to raise over £160 which contributed to us raising over £30K as a group.
It was a surprisingly tough walk which my small team completed in just over 3 hours - not bad for a very hilly 21kms which included walking over Beachy Head.
For 2024, I decided to embark on a treble challenge.
As part of Team WTW, I am taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge for Children with Cancer UK and it needs to be completed in 24 hours.
Prior to that in April, I'll be completing the 7 Sisters twice then in May, and in the company of 3 very good friends, I am aiming to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (26 mile hike) in under 11 hours.
If you know me, I'm not shy of taking on a challenge or 2 having completed 8 Ironman races, over a dozen half Ironman races, marathons and numerous cycle and swim challenges in the past.
Whilst I don't miss the racing and training, I'm really excited to be taking on this new challenge on. I've been training for this since October 2023. It's been the kick I needed and has been great for my health - body and mind.
Please donate as much as you can so that together we can achieve the charity's vision of every child surviving cancer.
**If you are a WTW colleague making a donation, please leave your name and we will apply for WTW matching for your donation. Please contact UK.CSR@wtwco.com if you would like to opt out.**
