Story
This year, me and some of my teammates from Newcastle University Womens Football Club are running the Great North Run to raise money for Mind.
Through playing football throughout my life, I understand the importance of good mental health and wellbeing and how sport in general can have a great impact on someones mental health by having fun, seeing friends, and keeping fit. However, I also understand the pressures and expectations that can come along with this, especially during times of injury, which can have a negative effect on someones mental health and wellbeing.
Mind is a charity that works to provide support and advice to anyone experiencing mental health problems, through online and local services and information. Knowing people close to me who have needed this kind of support shows the importance of the work they do. All money raised will be going towards improving these services and making them more accesible for those who need them. Thank you for any and all donations.
