AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10k 2025 · 18 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Last year I ran my first 10k to support groundbreaking research at The University of Manchester.
This year, I'm running again to support life-changing cancer research here at Manchester. On 18 May 2025, I’ll be taking part in the Purple Wave – a 10k challenge. It's been a year since I last ran, and I'll have to start my training pretty much from scratch.
And in that year I've seen how important early diagnosis is in influencing the outcome for those diagnosed with cancer.
Manchester is already world leading in its cancer research. Everyday our amazing researchers make discoveries which have lifechanging impact world over. Many feel they are on the cusp of a new breakthrough.
But for everything that’s already been achieved, there’s much more left to do. Cancer continues to tear families apart. One in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetimes. In the UK there is a cancer diagnosis every two minutes.
That's why I'm taking on the Purple Wave challenge, to ensure that The University of Manchester is at the forefront of these breakthroughs. With your support, brilliant people can carry on doing amazing research, which will benefit us all.
So please join me in supporting Manchester's life-changing research by sponsoring me today.
Thank you!
