Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi my name is Gordon Drinkwater.

Once again I am raising funds for Breast Cancer Now Volunteering in the Isle of Man, a Manx registered charity no. 1200.

This year's challenge is in two parts; a group cycle from Whitehaven to South Shields in July (approx. 172 miles), and a solo ride from Chester to Hereford between two RAF bases where I was once stationed (approx. 100 miles).

I'm raising funds for this charity as I lost my mum to breast Cancer many years ago (it wasn't talked about back then). My wife Glynis was also diagnosed 18 years ago and fortunately, after treatment, she is doing well and enjoying life.

Raising funds for research into this terrible disease is really important to me and my family especially as Breast Cancer Now has a goal "that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and live well" so I want to help them get closer to that goal.

Thank you, Gordon.
