Story
I am arranging a sponsored walk-in aid of the Leukaemia care. It will be 21 miles on a coastal path from Whitby to Scarborough in North Yorkshire.
The reason for this is twofold, first off all, just over a month ago my step son had a very bad chest infection, with not being able to get in to see a GP my partner took him straight to A&E at Middlesbrough hospital. After testing it was found that he had Leukaemia, that night they saved his life as he had a lot of complications such as fluid round the heart, fluid around kidneys, sepsis and more problems. He has been in hospital for over 7 weeks. without going into more details of treatment such as chemo and bone marrow transplant, we are all hopeful they get him fit again.
Back to the walk: I am planning the walk in May , my mind set tells me I want to do it solo and have time for thought and I will not announce any dates. I will just go and do it without any hassle of people wanting to do it with me or a support team. I just feel as though I want to do it on my own. Once started I will do regular updates in a Facebook group, so people know I am ok.
Secondly, this is major for me as I have over the last year lost over 8 stone in weight, I was a severe asthmatic (not now), I was diabetic (not now), I suffered chronic knee pain (a lot better).
Any sponsorship is gratefully received either through this just giving page or official sponsor forms I have from Leukaemia Care.
If anyone would like a sponsor form to take into their group/workplace to help me raise funds that would also be hugely appreciated.
Many thanks
