Story

UPDATE:

We're sorry to announce that the 92 in 92 Challenge has been postponed. The team are really disappointed not to be able to complete the challenge this May to honor Stephen's memory. Rest assured they are all fully committed committed to finding an alternative date in the Autumn.

Any donations made so far will still count towards the total raised for Muscular Dystrophy UK when the challenge is rescheduled later in the year.

Watch this space for revised dates to follow!

Five friends of Stephen; Matt Galpin, Tony Matthews, Andy Brown, Tom Clements and Sam Gooding, will be taking on the task of visiting all 92 football league grounds in 92 hours or less next month between May 9th - May 12th to raise money in his memory for Muscular Dystrophy.

Stephen was a major part of our friendship group and was sadly taken far too soon at the age of only 44 on 28th July 2021 due to sudden heart failure caused by Muscular Dystrophy.

The loss has had a huge effect on all his family and friends and as such we are looking to turn the negative of such a loss into a positive of raising vital funds which may help youngsters suffering with the condition or adults with families so they do not experience the same pain and suffering as we all have with Stephen’s passing.

We plan to visit all the football league clubs and have a picture with a banner in memory of Steve at each one across the 92 hours or quicker before we finish at Swindon Town, the club Steve supported from a boy until his untimely passing.

Trowbridge Ford have kindly provided a vehicle for the purpose of our challenge and this will be fully decorated with our cause and sponsors which helps in building the donations for the charity and in Stephen’s memory to as high an amount as possible.

Our route leaves Plymouth's stadium at 6pm on Wednesday 9th May and will hopefully finish in Swindon on the Lunchtime of Sunday 12th May, we are not exactly sure what time we will be visiting each ground but will keep everyone updated along the way!
