Story

Derick & Graham are part of Team Ewan, a group established to raise funds for CF Trust, following the birth of Grahams nephew, the main man himself, Ewan. Ewan was born with CF and whilst he takes it all in his stride (and is frankly, an inspriation to us all), we want to make sure that continues and he gets all of the help, medications etc he might need in future and increasing reseach and awareness is the way to do it.

Derick - I've completed the run 14 times to date ,12 of those aiming for under 2 hours (closest was 02:03:04 and I'm still bitter), once dressed as a gorilla (it was 23 degress and it took 3:46hrs) and last year as one half of the Tyne Bridge which I have to say was a real highlight of my very loosley titled running career. I'm looking forward to going again, especially competing against Sir Mo Farrah in his last competitive race and his first (probably) against two blokes with a bridge! D x

Graham - I'm now a second time runner for Team Ewan having played both Newcastle and Gateshead in the GNR 2022. Running is still not really my thing but having done it once, and now with a knowledge of what to expect I cant wait to get to the start line this year. I've still got concerns about Derick's music so this year there will be a public spotify playlist so supporters can help me make sure it doesnt become the greatest hit (and I mean hit) of Bon Jovi and Jounrey! G x

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.

Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
