Event: Race the Sun Lake District Keswick 2024, on 7 September 2024
The majestic mountains and sprawling lakes surrounding Keswick, in the Lake District National Park, offer a stunning backdrop as your bike, hike, and paddle around a course in a race against the setting sun.

Story

Team Glittery Hipsters is made up of sisters Hester Hearn and Selina Brierley; Sarah Hardman (the hipster - recently had a replacement hip so wanted something to train towards) and Jane Walker. We are taking part in Race the Sun Lake District Keswick for children's charity Action Medical Research.

In September we will be setting off on a triathlon-style adventure at sunrise to bike (40 miles), hike (10.5 miles) and paddle (2 miles) around a challenging course in a race against the sun.

We are racing in aid of children's charity, Action Medical Research. They have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.

By supporting our team you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

Thank you so much for your support.
