Story

At Glenlola we continue to support Charlene Secondary School in western Uganda. We are creating opportunity there for secondary education for children who previously had no hope of education beyond P7.

Classrooms, laboratories and teacher accommodation have been finished to a high quality. Solar electric, solar pumped water and WIFI has been connected and the compound is very clean and safe for the students who are already attending.

The Dining/Multifunction Hall and kitchens are being finished currently and by donating in lieu of Christmas presents you will be providing furniture and fittings for the kitchens and dining/multifunction hall in the school.

Some staff and pupils have already had opportunity to meet with teachers and pupils in Charlene Secondary on ZOOM. The difference we are making through this partnership with Charlene Secondary is very significant for them and indeed for us in Glenlola.

"Thank you Glenlola Collegiate staff for all your ongoing amazing support of Charlene Secondary School in Uganda." Dr Dickie Barr, Trustee Charlene's Project

Charlene's Project was set up by Charlene Barr. Unable to go to school with deteriorating health she decided to fundraise to build a school in Uganda. She passed away in 2010 but her project continues and today Charlene's Project is working in 9 schools (8 primary and 1 secondary) in western Uganda.
