My Ultra Marathon for Amber: Running for Hope, Running for Answers · 10 May 2025
Hi everyone,
My name is Glen, and I'm Amber's Dad. Some of you know my story, but for those who don't, we lost our beautiful Amber to Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). It's a loss that no parent should ever have to bear, a void that will never be filled.
To honour Amber's memory, and to try and make a difference for other families, I'm taking on a massive challenge. I, along with three incredible friends, will be running a 72km (44-mile) ultramarathon. We're starting at Ashton Gate Stadium, home of the Bristol Bears, and running all the way to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, carrying the match-day rugby ball.
This isn't just a run; it's a journey of hope. It's a way to raise awareness of SUDC, a condition that desperately needs more research and understanding. It's also a way to raise vital funds for The Amber Townson Foundation, so we can support other families who have tragically lost a child.
Every step I take will be for Amber. Every mile will be a testament to her memory. And every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.
We're running because we want to stop other parents from going through what we did. We're running because we believe that together, we can make a change.
Please, if you can, support us. Donate what you can. Share this page with your friends and family. Let's make some noise about SUDC. Let's honour Amber's memory.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Glen.
