I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to run this year’s Ottawa Marathon while fundraising for the Ottawa Heart Institute—an extraordinary institution that has saved the lives of both my beloved grandfather and father. This year, I am running in honor of Lino Bassi, a remarkable man who tragically passed away from a heart attack on January 24th, 2025. Lino’s kindness, unwavering support, and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew him. To have crossed paths with him was truly a privilege. I am deeply grateful to the Bassi family for embracing me as one of their own.
