Story
I’m dressing up as Santa for a Christmas ‘dash’ around Worcester Woods Country Park. I’ll be joining a sea of Santa’s that are all taking part to raise vital funds for St Richard’s Hospice 🎅💨
My brother Simon, was cared for by St Richard's, in the last days of his life, as was I while I slept by his bed. They were the most wonderful, caring people, and his room was a haven of peace and safety from pain, after the nightmare of hospitals, and his home.
Both my beloved sister, and her eldest daughter are currently being treated for breast cancer, and I am aware of so many people who's lives have been blighted by Cancer.
I have spent several years getting 'in shape' for this role of Santa, and have been doing the Worcester woods Parkrun for the last few months, in the hope of it leading to me being able to do something useful. I SHALL be walking, not running or jogging, but want to take in the joy that is life, and the nature around me, for those that can't be there to do it for themselves
I would be grateful for your support in sponsorship, however much you are able to donate. Each year it costs over £10.2 million to provide free care and support to patients and their loved ones which quite simply would not be possible without the support of our community and beyond.
