Event: Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024, on 13 October 2024
25 runners are taking on the 2024 Royal Parks Half to raise money for The Listening Place's face-to-face, ongoing support for people who feel life is no longer worth living. Help us raise £15,000 so that we can support 51 people who feel suicidal.

Story

On 13th October, I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon alongside 5 of my Savanta colleagues to raise money for The Listening Place.

In the UK we lose someone to suicide every 80 minutes. Suicide is the major single cause of death in men under the age of 50, and in all adults under 35. Despite this, effective support is hard to find.

The Listening Place (TLP) meets this need by providing a free, ongoing and safe place for those who feel life is no longer worth living to come and talk freely and confidentially to warm, non-judgmental volunteers. Just under £300 will fund the support of one visitor, for as long as it takes to reduce their suicidal feelings.

This is a really important cause and one that is very close to my heart so any generous donations to help support are hugely appreciated!

If you or anyone you know is struggling with suicidal feelings, please reach out to The Listening Place.
