Story
After deferring last year through injury, defying the numerous doubters to get close to the starting line, having never claimed to be a runner by any stretch of the imagination, 2024 is the year for Ian to finally ‘slay the dragon’ and run 26.2 miles for a one-time and never to be repeated experience. For this ‘exploding head trick’, which will undoubtedly be the most miserable and daunting of days for him, Gina has bravely volunteered to ‘support’ her husband in this quest, to revel in curmudgeonly banter and to be told, every half a mile, how much this hurts, how much he hates running and that he is never going to get to the end!
Please support this fantastic charity if you can. Have pity for Gina who is giving up about 6 hours of her life that she will never get back, and think of Ian who will be dying from the first to the last step, has had a dry few months since January whilst training for this, and can't wait for a few pints of Guinness!!
Your donations will directly impact the emotional and psychosocial wellbeing of families at times when unrelenting medical regimes are a necessary priority; when every day life on the gruelling cancer journey seems impossible. Even the smallest of donations will help towards the goal and help those less fortunate.
Thank you all so much.
