Hi! I’m fundraising for a wonderful organization called Little Angels Service Dogs.

Receiving a professionally trained service dog from an organization like Little Angels is a long (but worth it!) process for people with disabilities. A service dog costs an average of $38,000.  Every service dog in the Little Angels program has a minimum of 620 hours of training with their trainers. They train service dogs for many different types of disabilities Hearing dogs, Mobility dogs, Diabetic Alert, Seizure Alert, PTSD and yes even individuals with Autism!

A service dog would accompany an individual in all public spaces and they are trained to provide, deep pressure therapy in some cases, where the dog uses their body weight to provide pressure which can help calm the nervous system and alleviate anxiety and sensory overload, social bridge, which is where the dog will position their body to help give more personal space in certain interactions such as crowds, and medical alert, which is where the dog will learn to recognize different symptoms of anxiety and be trained to alert by pawing, thereby redirecting.
