Story
On the 16th December, I will be joining a small team of Veterans and who will be relaying a crawl up Ben Nevis to highlight the struggles people face with mental health.
During the Christmas period particularly, times can be tough and difficult. Loneliness also increases during the festive period and I would like the crawl to as well as raising funds for SSAFA to make people stop and think for a second about this. Maybe it can make you reach out to a neighbour or check in on a friend you haven’t heard from for a while, loneliness kills and a small act of kindness can make a massive difference in someone’s life’s. So if you can’t donated then just reach out and talk
Temperatures and conditions on the mountain will extreme, due to the time of year and it will be tough. I will not be crawling the whole mountain due to my injuries from service etc. Jay Millard will be attempting to crawl the entire mountain and we will be supporting him in this. Thousands of people every year summit Ben, but no one has ever crawled the entire mountain during the winter season. Jay is the founder of End Suicide, as an Ambassador for End Suicide I am proud to be on the team supporting Jay in this challenge.
Please join me in raising vital funds to support serving men and women, veterans and families who will call on SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity for help in time of need.
Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, SSAFA continues to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. They know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, they help to enable the Forces family to thrive.
Many thanks!
