Graeme and I have supported West Berkshire Mencap for many years. It is a local charity that does so much fantastic work for people with a learning disability, their parents and carers in the community.

West Berkshire Mencap have been given an amazing opportunity which is also a huge challenge.

The challenge is for the charity to raise £13,200 at the end of October and Greenham Trust will donate £50,000 through the Escalator Project. We plan to provide a fully converted, accessible Shepherds Hut at the Mencap Centre. This will be a fun break for children with a learning disability, and in turn parents and carers will have some respite.

Graeme, Frankie our border collie and I plan to walk the Ridgeway during the last week in October - that's 87 miles, through 5 counties. Our friends Louise and Peter Harris have kindly offered to be our support crew during the challenge.

Our fundraising target is £2,000. Would you be kind enough to support us? However large or small, all donations will be greatly appreciated.
