This is the start of my activities this year to raise money in support of North West Air Ambulance. This charity holds a special place in my heart after witnessing the incredible work they do firsthand. Last year, Gary - the husband, suffered a life-threatening accident. He fell from a height of 30ft and sustained multiple and complex injuries. It was a terrifying experience, but thanks to the swift response and expertise of the NWAA crew, his life was saved. The crew's dedication and skill ensured that he received immediate medical attention and was rushed to Aintree hospital.

At Aintree hospital, an exceptional team of surgeons performed life-saving operations that ultimately saved his life. The surgeons later advised that without the crucial work done by the NWAA crew before his arrival at the hospital, his chances of survival would have been slim. (I think they meant very unlikely). It was truly remarkable to witness how every step in this chain of care played a vital role in giving Gary a second chance at life.

Did you know that the NWAA operates solely on charitable donations. There is no government or NHS funding supporting their lifesaving missions. That's why I've made it my mission this year to raise as much as I can for this worthy cause. (I am also hoping Gary will be ready to join me at some fund raising events later in the year which would be amazing)

I will be participating in the Mersey Tunnel 10K Marathon on April 14th, 2024, as part of my fundraising efforts. It's an event that symbolizes resilience and determination - qualities that perfectly align with the spirit of North West Air Ambulance.

My goal is to raise £250 form this event for this cause - an amount that may seem small but can make a significant impact when combined with other generous contributions. Every pound counts, whether it's equivalent to the cost of a coffee or a beer - every little bit helps.
