Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Challenge is to cycle approximately 500kms from Burgos to Santiago de Compostela with my husband Tony, in September 2023, to raise funds for PKD UK.

This is important to us not just because there is a real need for research funding but also because we have a currently healthy young relative with PKD. We would like to raise money to ensure that there are better treatments available by the time my relative needs them.

As this is a disease that is passed down the generations it poses very difficult choices on young adults considering whether to have children. These are choices that no one should be faced with. There are signs that gene therapy might offer a cure but this is still a long way off.

Your donation today will help make PKD a thing of the past.

We start on 4 September and hope to complete the ride on 22 September 2023. You can follow our journey and cheer us on by following our blog: https://caminogilltony2023.blogspot.com/

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
