Phil Laverick and Ed Smith, on behalf of G F Tomlinson, will be taking part in the Lake District Ultra Challenge 2024, on the 8 June. They are raising funds for G F Tomlinson’s chosen charity - The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust (ADCT) and hope to beat their target of fundraising £600.

Starting at Kendall, they will then head to Garburn Pass and Ambleside, across hills, forests and nature reserves before heading back to Kendall for the finishing point. Find out more about the challenge here: https://www.ultrachallenge.com/lake-district-challenge/
About Aortic Dissection - 2000 people per year lose their lives from aortic dissection in the UK. The aorta is the major artery in the body and carries blood from the heart that goes to all organs. A dissection occurs when there is a partial tear in the aortic wall. This can rupture or interrupt the blood supply to vital organs.
The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust is the UK and Ireland charity uniting patients, families and the medical community in a shared goal of improving diagnosis, increasing survival and reducing disability due to aortic dissection. Find out more here: https://aorticdissectioncharitabletrust.org/
We hope you can support Phil and Ed on this epic challenge and help to spread awareness of this serious condition and the great work of The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust.
