Story
Over 30 years ago, my Mum lost a very close friend to cancer and, ever since, she has been fundraising for Macmillan. During this time, she has endured her own cancer battle, and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for them by making and selling ceramic ornaments, opening her house up twice a year for Macmillan Coffee Mornings, making her much loved baking and tablet, and accepting donations of bric-a-brac, clothing, books, DVDs and selling these with all proceeds going to the charity. Although she’s reached a stage in her life where the Coffee Mornings are too much for her and my Dad, she continues to raise money for Macmillan by selling things online. She’s my inspiration for this challenge and if I can raise even a fraction of what she has over the years, it’ll be a massive help for people suffering with cancer, and for those closest to them. I’ll be doing Tough Mudder for Caroline, for my Mum, and for anyone else out there affected by cancer.
Thank you so much for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
