Gethin's double marathon for Bliss

What’s better than running the London Marathon? Running it twice in a row!
That’s right… on Sunday 27th April, I’ll be attempting my inaugural double marathon. It will begin in the early hours of the morning, when I take on “nohtaraM ehT” (that’s the reverse marathon), starting at the London Marathon finish, and finishing at the start. After a short break and a well-earned breakfast, I’ll join the masses to run the official London Marathon… in the traditional direction.
I know what you’re thinking, and yes - that is more than 84 kilometres of running, after only a token few hours of sleep. Call me crazy, but I can’t wait - particularly given it’s all in aid of an amazing and hugely personal cause…
As you may be aware, our daughter, Phoebe, joined us much sooner than anticipated in the summer of 2023, arriving in dramatic and distressing circumstances in the middle of a weekend away from home. After 39-days in Portsmouth Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Rebecca and I were delighted to bring our baby girl back home to London.
We will always be grateful for the amazing support we received during the most difficult period of our lives. We believe that every parent and premature baby deserve the same help we were lucky enough to have, and a donation to Bliss can make that possible.
Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. Your contribution will enable Bliss to advance their phenomenal work - supporting families and neonatal professionals, campaigning for policy change and enabling life-changing research. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them. You can find out more about the charity at bliss.org.uk.
Anything you can give in support of this cause and my fundraising target would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
