We fundraise to enable young people to become International Volunteers

Story

Hey! My name is Zach and I have just finished my A-levels. Thanks for taking the time to check out my JustGiving page.

I have been selected to volunteer as an English teacher in Honduras for 8 months by the charity organisation, Project Trust. However, before I go, I will need to raise funds to cover my volunteering expenses.

During my placement, I will be working with Project Trust to provide English lessons to disadvantaged children who do not have access to a well-funded education. In Honduras, it is the law for children aged 8-14 to study English at school, however, in more remote regions this opportunity is unavailable. I will be teaching at a school in one of these regions, helping to contribute to youth development initiatives and engaging in the local community. I'm really looking forward to finding out more about Honduran culture, and am grateful to be able to devote my energy and enthusiasm to a meaningful cause.

Project Trust is a well-established educational charity that has been providing opportunities to young people since 1967. I chose Project Trust due to their reliability, commitment to the safety of their volunteers and comprehensive training that will help build my world skills.

To proceed further with this opportunity I need to fundraise £6,850 by December 7th 2024. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, whether it be a few pounds or a sizeable amount. This money will go directly to Project Trust, do not hesitate to check them out -> Project Trust

RCN SC025668
Project Trust is a Scottish-registered educational charity providing young people in the UK and Europe with international volunteering experiences. Project Trust Volunteers are based in projects in Africa, Asia or Latin America for 12 or 8 months supporting teaching or youth development work. Empowering global citizens Project Trust’s aim is to empower generations of young people to act as responsible and active global citizens. We support ethical, long-term volunteering experiences which enable the Volunteers to make a meaningful contribution to their host community whilst building knowledge, skills and cultural intelligence. Project Trust works with a small group of Volunteers each year, allowing the staff team to know each individual’s skills and interests. This allows us to place Volunteers in projects where they can get the most out of the experience and enables our staff to provide tailored support to each young person. Project Trust strives to be open to all young people with the desire, motivation and aptitude required to benefit from a long-term, ethical, volunteering placement
