Story
Captain William and his team will once again take to the muddy obstacle race to raise funds for Imelda! TThis will be the 3rd year running after two previous successful years! It all started when William wanted Imelda to run after him and I explained Imelda was born differently.
This year the courageous team is made up of Williams class mates, his class teacher Miss Bird and his cousins! Wow! What a team!
The Nuclear Rookie Rush Race takes place in Brentwood on the 11th May at 11am. It’s a 1.5-k muddy obstacle course which including nets, slides, balance beams, tunnels and zip wires, some straight into mud pools!
Last year was seriously good fun where we saw an incredible sense of spirit with no child left behind as the team ‘Get muddy for Me-me’ helped, cheered and encouraged each other. It was such good team work, it was absolutely buzzing!
Our target is £4,500 This would pay for 60hrs of therapy. This would go a long way to in helping Imelda (AKA Me-me) get on her feet independently and build up her core muscles and confidence. Imelda needs ongoing therapies that are not available via the NHS. In her short life she has endured 15 surgeries and 100’s of medical appointments and remains under 11 consultants at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
