Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I am very fortunate to be running the London Marathon in 2024 to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK in memory of my Grandad.
My Reasons for Running
My Grandad - David Watts OBE ❤️
He was an incredible family man, who inspired so many.
Sadly he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 64 and although he lived until 80 we were all still robbed too early of his wonderful humour, knowledge and love he had in abundance.
My Granny - Carole Watts ❤️
The most devoted wife to my Grandad, who has suffered huge heartbreak from this cruel disease. Granny fought for his wellbeing, his dignity, and his strength by caring for him in every way she possibly could, she is such an inspiration.
My Aunties, Uncles, Mum and Dad ❤️
Their hearts broke watching their amazing Dad slip away, all the while staying strong for each other, and for Granny.
My Brother and Cousins ❤️
I'm sure we would all agree Grandad has in one way or another inspired us all. Despite this, we still had so much of his time taken from us.
My own Children, Nieces, Nephews and future generations ❤️
I am running for YOU. I hope to raise money so answers can be found to limit the heartbreak we have all suffered in losing Grandad.
Thank You:
As much as I enjoy running, finding the time to train with three young children and a business to help run is not going to be easy. So I am truly grateful for the support of my wonderful husband, friends, family and community to make this all worthwhile.
🧡Together, we can make a real impact on the fight against Alzheimer's. 🧡
