Story
On 4th July 2025, I will be taking on the Snowdon Sea to Summit Challenge in memory of my beloved Dad, Geordie Thompson, who we sadly lost in April 2023 after his brave fight against a second battle with cancer. My Dad was a man who simply couldn’t sit still—he lived for the outdoors. As a tree surgeon, he found his greatest happiness working with nature, whether it was removing branches, felling unsafe trees, or spending hours in his garage chopping sticks. Being outdoors wasn’t just what he did; it was who he was. Nature was where he found his peace, his joy, and his purpose.
Before he passed, my Dad confided in me that his only regret was not being able to travel as much as he had dreamed. Taking on this challenge is my way of honouring his adventurous spirit and deep love for the outdoors. I know in my heart that he would have eagerly embraced this journey, and as I take each step, I feel as though I’m carrying a piece of him with me.
All funds raised through this challenge will go towards the University Hospitals Dorset NHS charity, helping to make a difference in the lives of others just as my Dad did in mine.
