Story
Hello!
My beautiful and brilliant Aunty Bev was diagnosed with MND. After fighting for a long time, she sadly passed away in October 2023. MND is a cruel and relentless illness that slowly strips away your bodily autonomy and leaves you trapped, unable to speak, move, eat normally - the list could continue, it is simply horrific and I want a world where no one has to suffer from this illness.
So that’s why I’ve decided to put on my running shoes again, for a longer time this time round and run a half marathon- that’s right 13 whole miles! Honestly if Aunty Bev could see me now she’d be laughing at the thought of me - a bit of a couch potato- actually running for that long.
However, MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND), as well as funding research to take us a step closer to a cure so I know she would approve of who I am running for!
I’m running for a world free of MND, I’m running for my gorgeous Aunty Bev who I love and miss more than words can express. I would give anything to hear her say “Hiya” in her loud voice, to hear her laugh again and to hug her and tell her how much I love her ♥️
I would be absolutely over the moon if anyone could donate, this cause truly means the world to me. Sponsoring me will also help MND Scotland to provide practical, financial, and emotional support to people affected by MND.
If you can’t donate, please be cheering me on from wherever you are as I embark on my longest run yet for Aunty Bev!
Thank you so much for reading this far♥️ Love G
