Hi, I’m Georgia and I will be spending two weeks in Pokhara, Nepal as part of a Travelteer Community Development programme in the summer of 2024. Whilst there, I will be part of a volunteering group providing English and IT support in local schools, working on infrastructure projects, and helping increase food security on local farms. In Nepal, most people live on less than $2 a day and many men have left the country to find work abroad to support their families, leaving few people to rebuild critical infrastructure and maintain farms in a country that is prone to landslides, snowstorms, and earthquakes.

Through Travelteer I will also be actively involved in the national 'One Child, One Light' scheme, with their fundraising providing local children with LED lights that allow them to continue studying after dark.
