Story
As many know, I used to work and volunteer for Guide Dogs in the East Scotland team. My time working at Guide Dogs was insightful and impactful. I learned about the challenges that blind and partially sighted people face on a daily basis and, crucially, about the ways that Guide Dogs supports people to live full and independent lives!
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. The charity is so much more than just the amazing dogs themselves - their support for children, families, and their campaigning changes lives in tangible ways.
