Story
This July, I'm taking on a moonlit adventure by climbing Snowdon to raise some serious funds for the amazing charity, Samaritans. We kick off at midnight hoping to reach the summit by sunrise to appreciate the stunning views before we head back down for a well earned breakfast and a cuppa.
Some of you may remember ‘Georgi does 500’ back in 2021 when I committed to walking 500 miles in the month of August which was an absolute killer walking just over 16 miles per day, no days off! I raised a whopping £1466.86 which enables Samaritans to answer over 251 potentially life-saving calls for help. Even though I said I wasn’t doing anything like that ever again, here I am, doing something like that... again... and this time with an aim of smashing a fundraising target of £1500.
Samaritans charity holds a special place in my heart following the shock suicide of a friend during the covid pandemic. I want everyone to access support when they need it, and the work Samaritans do is invaluable in that goal. So, I'm strapping on my hiking boots, grabbing my headlamp, and embarking on this epic nocturnal quest with excitement (and anxiety) levels that are off the charts! But hey, I can't do it alone – I need all of you wonderful folks to cheer me on as I train for this mountainous mission and, of course, to support me with your generous sponsorships 🌟🏔️
As a warmup and fitness check to my Snowdon hike I'm also taking on their '70 miles in March' challenge but of course I'm making it a little harder for myself because I've got to be mountain fit ready! So in March I will commit to walking 7 miles a day; that's a total of 217 miles during the month of March, no days off!
You can follow my training journey and sponsor me (please 🙏) via the link below.
