I am excited to share that my son Josh and I are embarking on our "Father and Son Cycling Around The World" official double world record attempt to raise money for UNICEF, an organisation that is dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Setting off at the end of March 2025 from Norfolk, UK, we aim to circumnavigate the world on bicycles, a journey of over 30,000 kilometres, across 29 countries, 4 continents and ascending the equivalent of 22 Mount Everests. Carrying all our kit, through extremes of terrain and climate, this ultra-endurance event will be a world first for a father and son.

We’re really excited about the year ahead – the sheer scale of the experience, the diversity of the cultures, remote landscapes and wildlife we will see, from the familiar architecture of Europe to the Silk Road of Tajikistan, the vast expanses of China and the jungles of Southeast Asia, to the majestic mountains of New Zealand and the Andes - all will be breathtaking to see from the perspective of our bikes.

I’m also really looking forward to seeing how our relationship develops and hoping that the bonds we make and stories we share will inspire others to embark on adventures of their own, no matter how big or small.

Josh will be documenting our incredible journey as we pedal around the globe, capturing the experience of our bike-touring adventure, showing not only the places we pass but also reflecting our relationship, including the many ups and downs there will be!

As novice cyclists in 2021 we took to cycling as a means of enjoying adventures together. Later that year we cycled from Land’s End to John o' Groats and in 2022 cycled over 6,000 kilometres across the USA, a journey captured in the YouTube film "Cycling Across The USA With My Dad."

The incredible scenery and the amazing kindness of the people we met during our previous two trips is what makes us want to see more of the world. We had some challenging moments on our America trip, which tested our relationship at times. We came out stronger though and I’m keen to see how strong our bond will be after this truly epic challenge. It will be emotional!

As we are embarking on a global journey, we wanted to fundraise for a global charity. Given all the conflict in the world, it’s the youngest that often suffer, so we chose UNICEF for their amazing work helping children around the world. UNICEF works tirelessly in 190 countries and territories, providing essential services such as vaccinations, education, and protection for children. Their commitment to saving lives and defending children's rights is unparalleled. By supporting this cause, you are helping to create a brighter future for children everywhere.

Our goal is to raise £10,000 to support UNICEF's vital work. Every donation, no matter how small, contributes to building a better world for every child. Together, we can make a significant impact and help children fulfil their potential.
