Story
I am preparing for my new swimming challenge. This year I will be raising funds for Ambitious about Autism, a very worthwhile charity, one of the few to address this terrible condition.
The challenge is to swim the perimeter of Lake Annecy in the Alps, some 36 kms with my four French friends. We expect to swim 7-8 kms each. It is scheduled for 1st July when the water should be 18-19C, so not too cold.
It is a place of great beauty and we are all looking forward to it.
Ambitious about Autism (AaA) is the national charity for autistic children, young people, and their families. They provide a range of sector-leading services, enabling autistic young people to progress successfully from early years to adulthood. These include education (3 schools and 2 colleges), an award-winning employment programme, family support, participation, training, and consultancy. They also raise awareness and campaign for changes to policy and practice, to have a wide and sustainable impact.
Ambitious about Autism believe every autistic child and young person has the right to be themselves and realise their ambitions.
I very much hope you can all support our fundraising.
Thanking you all in advance and as usual I will report back on the adventure.
George
