Fundraising for BBC Children in Need
I'm doing what I love, with a fundraising twist for BBC Children in Need. Together we can support children and young people across the UK to rebuild their lives.
Over the last 4 years he has raised a large amount of money for this very worthwhile cause. This has only been possible by the incredible donations from you so thank you all.
He has a variety of complex needs as many of you may know.He has severe epilepsy which means he needs his carers or us with him 24/7.So these challenges are designed to really push him and he gets such a great sense of achievement at the end . This year he has added an extra challenge making it 6 for the first time.
George hates having his photo taken so this in itself is an achievement.
He loves reading your comments and watching the amount he has raised increase The excitement he gets from seeing his name at the bottom of the screen in Fridays show is just unbelievable .
In the next few weeks George is hopefully making the huge step into a supported living house moving in with another special young man.Which really will be his biggest challenge ever.
The challenges are,
1,He has designed and built a large wooden tractor and trailer with moving parts and a fully tipping trailer It has taken over 100 hours of dedication and patience. The skills he has learnt from this are huge .This has only been made possible by the talented support from Pembrokeshire Frame.
2,George has chosen and saved up weekly to buy a complicated lego model which he aims to build unaided in 24 hours.
3,He is making ,measuring out, baking and decorating a cake which he will sell to the highest bidder on friday.
4,He will plan himself following a map a 3k walk around Scolton(with the carers as well) with no rest stops allowed.
5,To complete a Round the Clock darts chalkenge in an hour. This really stretches him adding up the numbers.
6,He will walk up and down the steepest 133 steps in Tenby nicknamed the jelly steps or heart attack steps.
For all of this he will be accompanied by his amazing carers Julia and Sian as without them it wouldnt be possible. They will encourage ,keep him motivated and carry his medication.
We are so very proud of him for initiating the ideas and wanting to raise money for this charity again.
Join us in supporting BBC Children in Need as we embark on George's 6 challenges for the charity. George, a remarkable individual with a passion for giving back, has overcome significant obstacles to make this initiative possible. Despite facing severe epilepsy and requiring constant care, he has poured his heart and soul into these challenges, driven by his unwavering determination to make a difference. From crafting a wooden tractor to conquering the daunting 'jelly steps', each feat represents not only a personal triumph but also a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. With your generous contributions, we can help George reach his fundraising target of £150 and create a brighter future for children and young people across the UK. Together, let's stand alongside George and show our unwavering support for this meaningful cause.
Thank you all Sara and Nigel.
