Story
In late 2021 I lost my Grandma, she battled breast cancer on 3 separate occasions, beating it twice, last year my Auntie was diagnosed with breast cancer and her fight is still ongoing. For this reason, this charity is very close to my heart, for more info on why their work is important, see the bottom of this page.
Starting 1st June 2023, I will be running 100km every month until 2024, this is the equivalent of a half marathon and a park run every week for the next 26 weeks. I will be posting updates via social media and on Strava.
If you would like to support me then any donations would be greatly appreciated, feel free to join me for a few km too!
To add to the challenge, anyone who donates more than £20 can request a side quest for me to complete (within reason), suggestions so far have been, do 5km in underwear, do 1km on a stairwell, do a run in fancy dress etc, so be creative!! If you want to set me a challenge, leave a comment under the donation and I’ll do my best to complete (with proof).
And yes, you can donate more than once if you think of another way to make me look daft while running ;)
As part of the runs, I’ll be completing the Richmond full marathon in September, Bath half marathon in October and the Cardiff MoRun half marathon in November, raising awareness for men’s mental health too in the latter.
This is my biggest ever physical challenge but I’m determined to complete it and raise as much as I possibly can for such a worthy cause so close to home.
Once again, any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
“Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Over 55,000 women and 390 men a year are diagnosed with breast cancer. Yet around a third of these cases are preventable.
Breast Cancer UK is working to prevent breast cancer through education, scientific research, collaboration and policy change.
Breast Cancer UK provides practical advice and tips on how we can reduce our risk. They campaign for changes to national health policies to support prevention, and fund research to help improve our understanding of how to stop the disease.”
