Story

I will be running the London Marathon in April 2024 to help raise awareness and money for ALK Positive UK.

In April 2022, my amazing sister in law Jade, a healthy, never-smoker was diagnosed with stage four ALK Positive Lung Cancer after ongoing coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.

Since then, Jade is receiving targeted therapy by a tablet taken everyday.ALK Positive is a rare lung cancer disease and is a charity close to mine and my families hearts. They are an amazing charity who help support, empower and advocate for ALK positive lung cancer patients and their families.

About 50% of ALK positive patients are diagnosed before the age of 50 and is a condition strongly associated with those of a history of never smoking. About 90% of those diagnosed with ALK Positive are diagnosed when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body and is known as metastatic cancer or stage 4. With more research and funding, hopefully it can be spotted at an earlier stage whilst improving treatment, medicine and the quality of life.

Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated and will be massively helpful to this wonderful charity. To show thanks for everyone’s support, with every donation, you can select a time you anticipate I’ll finish in ranging from 3 hours - 5 hours 30 (fingers crossed). Whoever gets closest to my finish time will receive a gift card of your choosing. Thank you for reading!
