Fundraising for Gold Standard Charitable Trust
Story
The charity that Judy and I are leading has been selected as an Official Charity Partner of the London Landmarks Half-Marathon. We have assembled a team of parents, teachers, alums and administrators from our partner schools to run the race. I am not quite up to running the course, but I will walk it in advance of the race and share a blog about the sights along the way, and our London experience, with all of my supporters.
The Trust currently support 38 students who receive an average grant of 95%+ at 8 independent schools in London. The group includes survivors of the Grenfell disaster, children in foster care and refugees of war. It is a great way to make a direct impact in a young life.
In the gallery is a picture of how we are spreading the good word about the importance of bursaries (scholarships) at the "Summer Fayre" of one of our partner schools. In the words of one young girl:
It's good to help children who are not as privileged as us to come to this very good school and have the opportunities that we do.
I believe that the greatest gift is a great education. Please give that gift.
