Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page for Prostate Cancer UK.
I was lucky, unlike Sir Chris Hoy and many others. A friend pushed me to get tested 2008 when I was in my late 50s, they found I had prostate cancer, watched a bit said it was growing and I had it out. Since then I've wanted to raise funds to help research into better diagnostics and treatments and to support men and their loved ones who have prostate cancer.
You can read more about what happened to me here: http://tansey.org.uk/food-health/prostate-cancer.html
Prostate cancer is now the biggest killer of men - more men die of it than women from breast cancer and 1 in 8 men (1 in 4 for black men) will have it during their lives, according to a special Inside Health programme on BBC Radio 4 on 12 November 2024.
Many thanks to JK's Chinese Takeaway and Goo Cheese in Hebden Bridge for each raising funds through a collection box and sharing this page for others to donate who can't do so with cash.
Many thanks for whatever you are able to give.
