(Updated 28/06/2024) I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all of your generous donations and kind words so far! I can't explain in words how moving it is and how greatly appreciated it is! So I'll just say the biggest thank you to you all! You all help me keep turning the pedals and to overcome the challenges I have and will face along the way. You're all so amazing!
Over the last few years I have worked as a teacher and met some amazing students. Some of them have experienced some serious hardship in their childhood which has limited their ability to participate some of the most innocent and adventurous years of their lives. However, many of those pupils have been looked after and cared for by GOSH, who they all speak very highly of. I have been in absolute awe in their courage, determination and positivity, even when facing some very difficult situations which I personally could never comprehend.
For a while now, I have dreamt of doing a big adventure, eventually coming to the decision of cycling around the world. I knew I would have the mindset that I would want to cover the entirety of the trip on a bike and avoid using public transport and hitchhiking (except for the wet bits). Therefore, I thought it would be amazing to be able to raise money for such an amazing cause alongside my own adventure, as every child on this planet should not have to face hardship. Hopefully the money we raise together will further help the amazing organisation that GOSH is, supporting over 619 children from across the UK every day, which works out to be 300,000 patient admission and appointments every year.
Thank you so much for all your help and support and I look forward to sharing this adventure with you all :)
