Story

A Mid-Life Oasis: 100km Across the Sahara for a Good Cause

As I stare down the barrel of my 40th year on this planet, I’ve decided to do something a little different. You know, something that screams "mid-life crisis" but in a way that doesn't involve sports cars or questionable hair decisions. Instead, I’m lacing up my walking boots, slathering on SPF 50+, and trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert. Why? Because cancer doesn’t care about your bucket list but we do.

Why Hope for Tomorrow?

Hope for Tomorrow is a fantastic charity that’s all about bringing cancer treatment to your doorstep, so you don’t have to trek miles for it (leave the trekking to the professionals, a.k.a. me). Their mobile cancer care units are like gourmet food trucks, but instead of tacos, they’re serving up a hefty dose of hope and health care. Brilliant, right?

The Sahara Saga: Why, You Ask?

You're probably wondering, "The Sahara, really? Was it a dare?" To which I respond, "Absolutely, why not?" Stepping into my forties should be nothing short of epic—sand between the toes and tales that could win any storytelling contest. It's also a golden opportunity to sport outrageous hats and claim it's all in the name of UV defence.

My Birthday Wish: No Gifts, Just Giving

Yes, it’s true. I’m spending my 40th birthday surrounded by more sand than you’ll find in the pockets of a kid after a day at the beach. Instead of birthday gifts, I’m asking for donations.

Every penny you give is like a birthday drink you don’t have to buy me—much cheaper and far more beneficial for everyone involved.

Thank You

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to our goal. Together, we're not just crossing a desert; we're bridging the gap to a future where cancer care is accessible to all who need it.
