Story
For anyone that doesn't already know (I'm pretty sure everyone does)
We lost a baby last year due to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. We had no idea I was pregnant until 24 hours before where I was told I was fine and all the pain I was in was just a water infection. Pains ide had for a full week 12 hours after being told I was fine I had a scan where everything wasn't fine and the baby measured 12cm (pretty much my entire fallopian tube) which had ruptured and from there it was bloods to see just how serious it was. Emergency surgery and tube removal within hours. No time to process being pregnant let alone losing a baby and almost my life.
If you have read this far and you or someone you know maybe pregnant or trying please read up on the signs and if in doubt ring 111 your doctor or even go to hospital. I had no idea what the signs were.
Anyone who would like to donate I'll be doing the 5k between the 25th of March and 1st of April it will be a walk because I can't run at the best of times and my left hip isn't the best due to surgery.
The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust strives to provide information, education and support to those affected by early pregnancy complications and to the health professionals who care for them. Ectopic pregnancy is a common, life-threatening condition that is the leading cause of maternal death in the first trimester of early pregnancy, The condition affects around 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK and occurs when an embryo grows outside the womb. The EPT believes that the deaths and trauma associated with ectopic pregnancy should be prevented. We seek to relieve the distress associated with the experience and provide ongoing support through their treatment and beyond.
