Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In August 2022, I was diagnosed with a form of ovarian cancer at 29 years old.
Within a week of diagnosis I was in hospital having a chemotherapy. I then spent 6 days every 2 weeks having chemo which meant 6 overnight stays every 2 weeks and hooked up to chemotherapy for at least 12 hours every day for 6 days.
Inbetween chemotherapy I picked up many illnesses / infections and spent more time in hospital. I have had multiple blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, antibiotics, painkillers, the list goes on.
Between August 2022 and December 2022 I spent more time in hospital, than I did at home, missing family events, birthday (event my own 30th), seeing friends, births of friend babies and the typical things most 29/30 year olds do. Safe to say I got to know the doctors, nurses and care staff at arrowe park, clatterbridge Liverpool & the royal very well, who where probably glad to see the back of me after each discharge due to my constant talk of Kingsley my dog.
In February 2023 I had major operation at the Liverpool royal hospital, to take the remaining tumours and disease that was left after chemo. I then spend 8 days in their critical care unit before being able to go home.
I am now in recovery and have regular 3 month checks with Clatterbridge to check things are going well and also with my surgeon from Liverpool woman’s hospital.
With some friends and family we are doing the glow walk on the 3rd February to support the hospital that help save my life.
