Story
Gemma was 29 years old when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was passionate about ensuring that young people were educated about checking their boobs and knowing what to look for. She had throughout her treatment continued to advocate the work that CoppaFeel undertake with young people. Sadly Gemma passed away in November 2023 and she loved Halloween so in her memory we have set up a Halloween display and invited our community to join us for some warming and sweet treats to raise money for her charity of choice.
CoppaFeel! are the first UK breast cancer charity to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim to instil a new healthy behaviour that could one day save a life. They are on a mission to ensure breast cancer is diagnosed early and correctly by getting the nation to check their boobs/chest regularly. They want to educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encourage them to get to know what is normal for them and empower young people to have the confidence to see a doctor if they notice anything that isn't right for them.
