Story
On November 10th, I'm sleeping out in solidarity with those for whom sleeping rough is not a choice.
No one should be without a safe, warm, dry place to call home. And yet, every night it is estimated there are around 3069 people sleeping rough in England alone. With 271'000 people assessed as homeless in 2022 (including 123,000 children), the true number is likely to be much higher.
Emmaus Hertfordshire provides people with not just a bed for the night, but a home for as long as its needed and a sense of belonging in a community. I am fortunate enough to be a part of that community, living and working amongst some of the strongest, most resilient people I have ever met, and seeing lives being transformed.
So, I'll be taking to my sleeping bag and asking you to make a donation, if you can, to raise vital funds for Emmaus Hertfordshire and the work they do to end homelessness. If you can't give money, some positive thoughts and words of encouragement will also be very much appreciated!!
