Dan and I are taking on a 1in10 Challenge to raise vital funds for Endometriosis UK!
My amazing boyfriend Dan is doing 10 sets of 10 pull ups every day (that's 100 a day) this March ❤️ After my latest surgery on Monday I am aiming to walk a 10k by the end of the month 🥾 We are also making boxes of sunshine filled with 10 little yellow surprises for the first 20 donors! ☺️ If this is you then please let me know your address for postage - gembarnshaw@gmail.com ☺️
As some of you may be aware, I suffer from endometriosis. It has been a long and painful journey so far and myself and Dan wanted to do something to help stop other women from going through it. I have had three surgeries so far and some unpleasant procedures. My most recent surgery was only this Monday, where they discovered that some of the endometriosis tissue they removed last time had frustratingly grown back. Nevertheless, I am determined to support the amazing charity Endometriosis UK this action month in driving change for women with endometriosis - we need a cure and more options. There is some information below about endometriosis and the UK's leading charity for the condition...
Endometriosis is the name given to the condition where cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. It is a chronic and often debilitating condition that can cause painful periods, painful sex and pelvic pain outside of periods. It can also lead to infertility, fatigue and bowel and bladder problems. Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth, that's as many as diabetes yet very few people have even heard of it. The impact can be felt for life and there is no cure. It takes an average of 8 years to get a diagnosis of endometriosis in the UK, that's too long!
Your donations will mean that Endometriosis UK can continue to support those affected by Endometriosis through national support groups, information provision and their helpline as well as continue to campaign for change, fairer treatment and eventually a cure.
Dan and I would really appreciate any donations and, if you are unable to donate, please educate people on the condition and spread awareness - that's a massive help too and we would really appreciate that!
Thank you, lots of love xx
